How could this be possible?

Wish to shop for cheap gadgets, but do not know where to head for?
LOWYAT is the answer.

If you plan to compare products sold in Courts Mammoth with Tesco, guess which one offer a better price?
Let's the battle begins.
To make everything looks fair, I will try to compare apple to apple.

Product 1: RM29.90 (Courts Mammoth)

Product 1: RM19.90 (Tesco)

Product 2 will be AVF ear phone as well. (I am planning to buy an ear phone so pay more attention to ear phone)

Product 2: RM39.90 (Courts Mammoth)
Product 2: RM29.90 (Tesco)

Why is it things selling in Courts Mammoth have to be a lot more expensive than Tesco?
If you did read my previous blog regarding Courts Mammoth, you will know I do not like Courts Mammoth at all. Then why I went there?
I went to Tesco in Mutiara Damansara that day to buy a DVD player, but sadly no stock for the one I chose and just opposite located this "Mammoth" on sales. and found that the price after Mammoth sales still remain "Mammoth"

Now, let's continue with product 3.
Product 3 : (Courts Mammoth)
Ladies and gentlemen, and here comes our product 3. Cool isn't it! It is 70" Samsung LCD TV.
They're selling it by half price.(50% discount)
Guess how much is this TV after the "Mammoth" discount?

Sorry, I cant find the same TV by Samsung in Tesco, but I can give you a hint:
As you can see, the retail price for Sony Bravia 70" TV is RM200,000 before discount.(Both Sony Bravia & Samsung are HD1080 with nearly similar spec) So what will be the discounted price of Samsung TV in Courts Mammoth?

THINK

THINK

THINK

And the answer is:

RM199,999.00 after their 50% discount!!!(Courts Mammoth)

How could this be possible???

This reminds me of a story, a very interesting story that suits the title well, sadly it's in Chinese. Since you have come so far, I guess you don't wish to miss the ending. By BEG or DRAG, ask someone to translate for you!

Run your car on water

Have you ever think that we can run our car on water?
From news recently, get to know that we can get our car moved by just using the air. How amazing this could be! The prototype is out but the price is pretty expensive.

How about water? Since we can run our car by air, I guess it applied to the water as well.
To my surprise, I found this site: click here
From the website, it mentions that we can use electricity from car's battery to separate water into gas called HHO (2 hydrogen + 1 Oxygen) which known as Brown's Gas that provides the atomic power of Hydrogen. It's so cool. Do go and have a look , they have attached some cool video as well.

Slave or Labour

What is the main difference between slave and labour?

I wonder is there still slave in this 20th century?

I have a friend, let the name be A. A is a graduate from local university, while waiting for his employment, A work as a shop assistant where he feels he can gain experience for what he is going to be in future. Guess how much is the salary?

RM3.50-Rm4 per hour.

A works 6 days per week, 8 hours per day. Accumulation of the salary per month will be approx RM 800. The question is that is this kind of salary able to survive in places like KL where everything is expensive; price of petrol reach the peak recently, even some places, the price for a bowl of mee went up to RM5 (since last week).

Income(1 month) : Rm800
Meal(30days, 3meal/day,RM5/meal) :-RM450
Room rental +Electrical& water bill : -RM150
Maxis/DIGI user :-RM30
movie :-RM10
KFC :-RM10
Petrol :-RM100
Toiletries + house hold item :-RM50
Balance :RM0

Luckily still able to balance the account.....

This scenario only applied to those lucky one provided with a car, else don't even think of owning a second hand Kancil. Not to even mention about having your own house. Oh ya, how about stationary, clothes, trousers or shoes?

Not to be worry.
In fact, with 7 days working a week, you can buy those selling in night markets.
Alvin Cheng

This is the conversation between A and me:
A: Hello, may I speak to ....
........
.....
...
A: My boss says he needs more people to help out on this sunday, are you free?
Me: I have no appointment yet, doing what? How much is the pay?
A: Oh, we are doing stock check. They pay RM3.80/hour.
Me: Huh? RM3.80/hour???? Did you ask others?
A: Ya, I did ask my friend, they are not free.
Me: The salary is too low le, who will want to work? Only stupid people will accept the offer. (Sorry, I am not smart, and kinda stupid in times)
A: My bosses girlfriends and wife. Dun crap, want or dun wan, just say?
Me: If I work 8 hours there on sunday, I already use half of my salary to pay for petrol..Dun wan la.(My house is around 45 minutes from there)

A: Dun worry, I think we will work more than 8 hours as not enough people.
Me: ......

I nearly FAINT

Nuffnang

Nowadays, Nuffnang seems to be quite popular among blogger, I can see it in most of the blogs.
Since my blog has plenty of free spaces, why not have a try! It doesn't bother me after all.

I have read the terms and conditions, ways to generate income. blar blar blar.

From my understanding, as long as there is unique visitor or someone click on it (definitely not me myself), they will generate income to you.

May be due a bit of curiosity add-on a bit of hand itchiness, whenever I see there is Nuffnang's advertisement on others' blogs, I will click on it spontaneously. Wonder how much it helps with just a small little click by me? If it really work out, then you must be thankful that I visited to your site. Haha! I don't lose any thing as well. Why not?

To your surprise (may be not surprise at all),
I have placed Nuffnang with me for almost 2 months. I did not check my account at all. Today I sign in and check my account, guess how much earnings it has generated?

Rm0.75.... Better than nothing.

I learnt that I only can cash out the money if my avenue reaches RM50. I pressed on my calculator, it came out with the figure of 133 months.

Let's see what I will do with this money. I guess I will use it as education fund for my kids. (Haha, just kidding - I not even married yet)

I will update here, if my calculator doesn't speak the truth.
If you seen Nuffnang in my recycle Bin, I guess you understand what it means.

Mother's Day

This morning, we went to Bukit Jalil Stadium, as there is an event organize by Tzu chi Society. There, we get to eat vegetarian food for free. Their food is tasty and wont be too oily. I like their seaweed popiah. They even have banana in one of its popiah variety. I can say is that they're quite creative. Thumbs up!
They organized many meaningful activities such as recycle, donation, yoga, chinese calligraphy and many more. I supposed there are more than 10,000 participants.

In one of their booth, Tzu chi members teach a lot of children to make flowers for their mothers. I made one too, this is how it looks. Making this flower looks easy but actually quite challenging for someone like me that abandoned my art classes for more than 5 years. It as well reminds me my life back in kindergarten decades ago.

Perodus Nautica

This is how Perodua Nautica looks like!
Perodua Nautica is Perodua Kembara's successor which was launched in this month.

Today, I went to their showroom in Petaling Jaya. There is not much people in the showroom compare years back when they lauched their brand new Perodua Myvi. According to the salesman, the company is trying to cut cost for this product which is 97% made and imported from Japan. (quite near to fully imported)

Perodua Nautica is selling with only 1 variant price at RM89,900 OTR with insurance with two colour choices, either grey or black. It comes with a longitudinally mounted 1.5 liter DWT engine. Nautica is an essential Perodua-badged version of Daihatsu Terious. This is how Toyota Terious looks like!

Aren't they look alike?

Perodua intends to take 5% of SUV market with the sales of about 200 units monthly with Nautical. The petrol comsuption of Nautica is Rm0.16 - Rm0.17/km which is around Rm0.01 higher compare to Perodua Myvi and it is more spacious compare to Perodua Kembara. I will prefer if it comes with leather seats with other colour choices like methalic silver (I like most). Anyway, Perodua nautica will still be a good choice for those who looking for imported SUV with an affordable price.

Special Day

Valentine's day
Mother's day
Father's day
Birthday
Students' day
Teachers' day
Christmas day.....

Malaysia is a multi-racial country with a population more than 26 million which consists of Malay, Chinese and Indian as well as other races. As the result, we have
Hari Raya
Chinese New Year
Deepavali.....

Who will be the happiest in these days? The business men out there? or the love one?
Both, I guess. Actually these days are celebrated as a sign of appreciation for those people around us for their contribution, their help as well as their care to us. These days are celebrated as sign of our concern, to show our care in return as well.

So, we just show our love & appreciation to them in these special days? How about other days? If we celebrate with them in 1 day, they will be happy for just a day. Why not everyday? For me, I will choose to celebrate Mother's day, Father's day, Valentine's day everyday.

Mother's day will be coming soon. I will take this opportunity the greet all those mothers out there Happy Mother's day. I am still scratching my head to find a present for my mum. Happy mother's day to my mum as well!

Shihlin Taiwan Street Snack

They are expanding fast and currently having 11 franchises in Malaysia . The word Shihlin came from the Shihlin night market in Taiwan.

Cuisine: Taiwanese
Food: Handmade Oyster Mee Sua, XXL Crispy Chicken, Seafood Tempura, Crispy Floss Egg Crepe.
Drink: mineral water, V-soy soya bean milk

In Shihlin Taiwan Street Snack, One Utama, the shop is really small with approximately 10 seats but in a strategic location near the entrance to the TGV Cinema in One Utama's old wing and is always full during weekends.

Shihlin taiwan street snacks is famous for its Oyster mee sua as main dish and others snacks.
I love their Handmade Oyster Mee Sua, seafood tempura and soya bean milk. Thumbs up! Can have a try for those never been there. Just that their food is filled with lots of MSG, feel thirsty after taking the food there.
Alvin Cheng

"It's a Singaporean company by the way. Supposedly they paid a Taiwanese chef a lot of money (5 figure amount) to teach them recipes!"
"All the food is filled with MSG, though looks unhealthy, but it could be quite tempting."
"Uncle Bob’s chicken in night markets is waaaay better compare to their XXL Crispy Chicken."

Which came first, the chicken or the egg?

Start with the beginning or the end?

I was told a blog is like a story book; stories that unique from one to others. When you read blogs, you are reading stories behind the writer. Through blogs, we get to understand the author better.

We read story books from first page to the last, aren't we? Is it means that we should read blogs from the earliest post? Somehow, I prefer reading articles begin with the last post. but in the end, who cares? As long as d articles r interesting & u r hppay wtih it, it is not a big dael!

Intreesting Fact:
"Aoccdrnig to a rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it deosn't mttaer in waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, the olny iprmoetnt tihng is taht the frist and lsat ltteer be at the rghit pclae. The rset can be a toatl mses and you can sitll raed it wouthit porbelm. Tihs is bcuseae the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey lteter by istlef, but the wrod as a wlohe. "

back to our title: Which came first? The chicken or the egg?
Alvin: "Who cares? As long as it is delicious, I eat both."
Scientist: "Egg come first." (Reference)

What is your numbers?

Bloggers: Know Your Visitor!!!

the main difference between blog and diary is diary meant for individual / private readings. Not like diary, blog (web log) is born for universal readers. Without readers, it will lose the purpose of writing. In additional, blogger who get to know their blog is popular among readers, will serve as a kind of motivation & encouragement to continue producing good articles to readers or supporter. But how to identify the numbers of readers for blogs?

There is a lot of website offering this kind of service to blogger, let me just name a few:
  • SiteMeter
  • StatCounter
Both SiteMeter and StatCounter are free services that provide invaluable & a limited amount of complementary information about the visitors to your websites. SiteMeter provides first and last page viewed, for 100 unique visitors. StatCounter aggregates information about the unique visitors, for 100 page views. But both are equally useful. Fortunately, both are equally priced - free. These websites do offer detail statistic informations as well but with various fees .

If you are free, why not make a visit to these websites and gain some knowledge!

Courts Mammoth Sales! Don't miss it!

Great news!!! Courts Mammoth is having their sales again!!!

Nope!! Nope!!

I didn’t say I will be going. I had bad experiences with this store.

This is how the story beings. Once, when I am reading the Sun newspaper, so-called Great Sales from Courts Mammoth attracted my attention. They are having a 70% discount for 10 hand phones. In addition, a voucher is attached to the newspaper for free 10 pcs 4R size photo printing by just presenting this voucher.

After the readings, I compared their discounted hand phones prices with the market price, and found out only 1 of the 10 so-called discounted hand phones are real cheap.

I went there on the second day of sales. “No more stock for that unit, sorry sir”, this is the answer given to me. The other 9 units are still lying on the display shelf. Consumers are smart, aren’t we?

OK, Fine, no more stock. I still have the free photo printing voucher. When I asked around, my reply was, “Is just for 1st day”. (Never even mention at all in the newspaper)

Fine as well, I tried to reach for the shopping list in my pocket. Let’s check up my shopping list:

Sony earphone
Logitech webcam
….

The products are in place, but their prices are higher compare to Jusco.
Oh, is enough for me here. I am leaving now!!! But before heading to my car for this unpleasant 30 minutes shopping, I need to settle my parking payment.

Later, my mum told me she faced the same problem a year back at Courts Mammothas well. The difference is just that she went there during the first day of sales (queuing up before the shop is open), but how could this happened?

In conclusion, ……… (I guess you get what I meant)

To be fair, let me state some pros as well:
• Courts Mammoth 0% installment plan
• Promoter is very friendly
Do share with us if you have any good / bad comments regarding Courts Mammoth. Thanks for reading.

Black

Why I choose BLACK for my website?

I love black. My watches are black; my spectacles are black as well. Few days back, I was told that even Google Search now is with a black edition.

I quote my friend on this:
“Google is the second Brain to many of us.
It uses white screen which consumes higher power.
If Google had a black screen, taking in account the huge number of pages viewed, according to calculations, 750 mega watts/hour of power per year would be saved"

In response, Google created a black version of its search engine, called Blackle, with the exact same functions as the white version, but obviously with lower energy consumption”

Google Search (White)
Google Search (Black – energy saving search)
I just tried browsing both version in different tab to compare and found that my eyes feel more comfortable with Blackle.

The Forbidden Kingdom

Thumbs up!

I watched it twice. It was hilarious. The movie is great in the sense that it blends a western-style story through the white boy and traditional Chinese legend of the Monkey King with oriental martial art. Jackie Chan and Jet Li are being paired for the first time on the big screen. So, what are you waiting for….

For those who watched this movie, anyone out there see this scene in the movie?

My first watch – B.U.M Equipment

Year of Buy : 2000
Price : RM 300

I love it once I see it, so I decided to purchase it. Though it is made of stainless steel, but after some time, the steel seem to be dull in colour and the stop watch malfunction after some time. However it has a long battery life. This watch last about 5 years.

This time, before I get my second watch, I do some research and get some from information from some watch specialists known to me. They suggested me to go for brands like Casio, Seiko, or other Swiss made watch (exclude Swatch) as they are more professional in field of manufacturing watches.

Swatch is not suggested in the top list of selection because firstly, it is made of plastic. Moreover, one of my friends wearing this brand complains that the glass of his Swatch watch has broken but unable to get a repair, so he has to buy a new one. But the pro is that it is very easy to change the battery, you can do it DIY.

My current watch – Swiss Chronoforce

Year of Purchase : 2008
Price : RM380

Have you observed that my current watch is quite similar with my previous watch in terms of design. Wonder why! I really love chronograph tachymeter watch with black dial.

Some one is going to present me a watch. So happy! Cant wait to receive my new watch! I will post up here once I have received it.

How To Use a Tachymeter

What is Chronograph? What is Tachymeter?

A chronograph is a timepiece or watch with both timekeeping and stopwatch functions.
A tachymeter or known as tacheometer is a kind of theodolite used for rapid measurements and determines the distance to target, and is highly automated in its operations.
Using the Tacho-productometer (TPM) scale
1, 10, 100 or 1,000 etc. units (such as Km – kilometre) are indicated by the seconds hand. When stopped the seconds hand points to the figure on the TPM scale by which the number of units (1, 10, 1,000 etc.) must be multiplied to obtain production rate or per-hour speed.

Examples:

• A racing car covers one kilometre in 30 seconds.
The seconds hand stopped upon completion of the mile at the 120 mark on the TPM. Average speed of the car = 120 X 1, or, 120 km per hour.

• A bicycle covers one kilometre in 45 seconds.
The seconds hand stopped upon completion of the mile at the 80 mark on the TPM.
Average speed of the car = 80 X 1, or, 80 km per hour.
