the main difference between blog and diary is diary meant for individual / private readings. Not like diary, blog (web log) is born for universal readers. Without readers, it will lose the purpose of writing. In additional, blogger who get to know their blog is popular among readers, will serve as a kind of motivation & encouragement to continue producing good articles to readers or supporter. But how to identify the numbers of readers for blogs?

- StatCounter
Both SiteMeter and StatCounter are free services that provide invaluable & a limited amount of complementary information about the visitors to your websites. SiteMeter provides first and last page viewed, for 100 unique visitors. StatCounter aggregates information about the unique visitors, for 100 page views. But both are equally useful. Fortunately, both are equally priced - free. These websites do offer detail statistic informations as well but with various fees .
